Thank you for considering a gift to the Southeastern Festival of Song. Each concert presentation requires a strong financial commitment of public and private entities, and future seasons would not be possible without the kind and generous support of our friends and patrons.

Frequently Asked Questions about SEFoS support
Performance Hall and Revenue
In order to preserve the intimate nature of this kind of concert, the performance hall should ideally seat no more than 700 people.
Ticket revenue typically only covers 10% of producing events of this nature. Non-profit foundations like SEFoS rely on the kind support of corporate, government, and individual support for their individual mission and projects.
Many staff members and volunteers must work behind-the-scenes during the course of a single concert presentation including technicians, managers, handlers, photographers, and ushers.
SEFoS Vocalists and Collaborators
Classically trained singers do not use microphones to project in opera houses, symphony halls or recital halls. Their finely crafted technique allows them to act as their own amplification system!
Artists hired for SEFoS events must be able not only to perform traditional art songs, but must also be able to successfully interpret styles such as Standards, Jazz, and Musical Theatre.
The Cast of the Inaugural Gala was comprised of artists from 4 Countries and 7 States, 6 of whom are native Southerners, and 3 of whom are native Georgians!
Our artists may be required to sing in any or all of the following languages during the course of one program: Czech, English, French, German, Italian, Latin, Russian, Spanish.
It may take a single artist 10 practice hours, 2 sessions with a coach/accompanist, and as much as $120 to prepare each song, prior to arriving in the city to meet their fellow cast members and beginning the collaborative rehearsal process.
It is the job of the coach/accompanist to help shape each recital performance by collaborating with their vocalists in the areas of text, translation, language, poetry, musical style, interpretation, tempo, and dynamics.
