presented with ‘Arts & Letters, Live’ at the Dallas Museum of Art, and Shakespeare Dallas
SEFoS presents songs, poems, and riffs on some of Shakespeare’s most memorable characters. Berlioz and the Beatles spotlight Ophelia in Hamlet; Clara Schumann, Kurt Weill, and Stephen Sondheim illuminate characters in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The story of the star-crossed lovesr Romeo and Juliet is told through lyrics by Francesco Cavalli and Roger Quilter, and befuddled Beatrice and Benedict become “Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered”! So don’t protest too much and join us for a classic evening of demythified Elizabethan splendor!
